Assessment Log - CCS Library Services @ Spokane Community College, 2013-18

In 2014, the Community Colleges of Spokane Librarians at SCC began logging the assessment activities in which we engage and their resulting data on this site. The content of this log doesn't reflect assessment done prior to 2014.

The library supports and participates in a culture of assessment on all CCS campuses and state-wide. Librarian representatives serve on committees dedicated to fostering a culture of assessment. We view assessment as a continuous process and engage in ongoing action-research which informs our instruction.

The Assessment Cycle

Levels of assessment:

1. Assessing individual student learning within courses
2. Assessing individual student learning across courses
3. Assessing courses
4. Assessing programs
5. Assessing institution

Suggests approaching the work of assessment on 3 levels:

1. Institutional Level
2. Program or Department Level
3. Classroom Level
