Online students are not excluded from support. Our CCS Online students can engage with Student Success Coaches to both find helpful information to help them navigate their education as well as build community with other online students.
Online students can enroll in a course called CONNECT, but it is not an actual course-- there are no grades, no required active participation, and no tests or assignments. It is a convenient platform to communicate important information like upcoming deadlines and important dates, instructions for getting things like registration and financial aid done as easily as possible, and anything else an online student may need to know. It is also a place for students to use to connect and network with one another.
For more information about connecting your students, reach out to the online student success coaches from eLearning:

SCC faculty joined together in Spring 2022 to learn about HSS and create projects designed to connect students to resources (join the TLC's PD Canvas course here). See the HSS module, and scroll down to "SCC Faculty HSS Projects." Look at the resource materials created by our amazing faculty. In particular, the projects developed by Amy Anderson, Brianna Khetlyr, Samantha McCann, Kathryn McKenna, and Susan Wilson directly connect to topics covered in the last couple of days. . From importable modules to interactive maps, the resources are ready to share with students.
Please remember that if you're ever unsure of where to turn for support for a struggling student, the Early Alert team on campus is also available to help.
Faculty, staff, and students can submit online Early Alert Referrals.
