Research Tips

  • Use a variety of types of sources

In order to get balanced research, don't just use one source.

  • Start at the SCC Library homepage

Your college library collects information resources which support students in the programs taught at the college. It's wise to always consult these vetted collections of information.

  • Evaluate all sources

Evaluate every information source you find. Ask if it's created by an expert (person or group), is it appropriately non-biased, and is it appropriately current for your need.

Not sure if the source is credible or not?

Use the W. W. W. evaluation method (below) and/or ask a trusted teacher, boss, colleague, librarian, etc. for help evaluating.
