Entrepreneurship databases

Search library BUSINESS databases to find all types of information (articles, e-videos, ebooks, etc.).

  • Students must login to access databases from off campus.
  • Non-students must visit the library to use our databases.

ProQuest Entrepreneurship  Collection of entrepreneurship articles, videos, blogs, how-to books, company reports, market research, sample business plans, templates, forms, and more

ProQuest  Collection of articles and other information covering all subjects, not just business and entrepreneurship. Librarians can help you do an advanced search to find company profiles from the publisher Hoover's and industry profiles (like those from First Research).

Demographics Now  Create customized demographic and market research profiles for your chosen location & population.

ReferenceUSA  Use this database to identify competitors & similar businesses, and possible customers to whom you may market your product/service. Choose any geographic area you want.

Hospitality, Tourism, and Leisure Collection  Content from industry journals, travel guides and magazines; provides well-rounded coverage of tourism, plus cultural and economic aspects of travel, leisure activities, and more

Academic Search Complete  Article database of 1000s of periodicals which cover all topics

Company & Industry Reports: ABI Inform

Use Library Databases, like ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry to get market and industry reports, like those from Business Monitor International (BMI). This database also contains Company, Country, and Commodity reports and numerous articles, newsletter, and other reports.

Journal of Business: Book of Lists (current year)

Contains data useful for identifying contacts, targeting sales leads, compiling mailing lists, viewing growth markets in our region, researching competitors

Journal of Business: Market Fact Book (current year)

Market research data from Spokane County and selected areas of Kootenai County.

Spokane Vitals (also online)

From Greater Spokane Incorporated lists 20 economic indicators including: business growth, education, annual wages and other quality of life measures

  • American FactFinder
    From the US Census, a good starting place for basic community demongraphics
  • County Business Patterms
    From US Census data, quickly generate a profile of numbers of local industries; useful for analyzing market potential.
  • Community Indicators Initiative of Spokane
    Extensive local data about: people, culture & recreation, economic vitality, education, health, housing, public safety, transportation
  • Workforce Explorer
    Washington labor market info.: in-demand careers; wages; green jobs; etc.
    From the Edward Lowe Foundation; provides data about business activity in local areas
