Footnotes are a way of giving credit to your sources. Each one points from your text to an entry in your bibliography.
To insert a footnote in Word:
- Place your cursor where you want the footnote to go.
- Under the References tab, choose Insert Footnote. This will place the superscript number at that place and open a space at the bottom of the page to type the note.
