Reserve Textbooks Reminder

Request reserve textbooks for Spring or next year.

Contact librarians to discuss placing your textbooks or other course materials on reserve in the library. This service provides critical support for many students.

It takes us a while to fund, order, and process books, especially textbooks, so contact library staff ASAP.

GenAI workshops: All are welcome

Librarian Greg Bem will be teaching two GenAI workshops this Spring. 

  • Audience: All are welcome

  • Mode: Workshops are hybrid. Students & employees may attend in-person in the SCC Library classroom or online in Teams.

  • Access: Register in advance. All participants will be sent a recording after the workshop is over.

Intro to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

Join this event to get the low-down on GenAI technology and how it's impacting our world! This interactive session is for people who are new to GenAI technology, or new to critically thinking about it!

Generative AI Image Literacy

This session will explore the landscape of AI image generation with a focus on developing skills to identify AI generated images. Through activity and discussion, attendees will practice identifying AI generated images and explore popular image generation models and integrations. Ethical considerations, including citation and attribution for using AI generated images in academic and professional capacities, will also be discussed.
