Early spring is the time when librarians are particularly eager to spend the year's collection budget.

Contact your liaison librarian ASAP with suggestions or for support in selecting books, ebooks, videos, Reserve textbooks, or other items you'd like to see in the library collection.


 

New streaming video packages in Spokane Public Library's Kanopy

All students & CCS employees are pre-approved to get an SPL card number and PIN which allows remote access to the full Kanopy collection.

New packages (over 2000 films):

  1. Diversity A broad range of popular and compelling narrative films and documentaries focusing on diverse stories and storytellers; a wide array of perspectives, cultures, backgrounds, and experiences provide an essential and relevant collection that broadens viewpoints and enriches understanding
  2. World Cinema A diverse range of films from a broad set of countries; recent theatrical hits as well as critically acclaimed classics from various genres; historical costume dramas, modern romance, charming character-driven comedies, this sophisticated selection of international films has something for everyone 
  3. Favorites Crowd-pleasers, critical favorites, acclaimed actors, selected from a wide range of genres (drama, comedy, thriller, documentary, television series) 
  4. Easy-Watching Crowd-pleasing comedies, fun and entertaining documentaries, popular classic cinema, and family friendly films, easy-to-watch titles of broad appeal

Period of availability: SPL purchased these add-on packs for use from November 2022 until October 2023. Their use period may be extended. If you use SPL films in your instruction, you may wish to confirm availability as October nears.
