Quarterly news featuring library resources and services that support teaching & learning

Library Instruction available

Liaison librarians for your discipline are available to provide Information Literacy instruction in a variety of modes.

Librarians are happy to partner with you to support students as they continuously develop information literacy.

Have questions or wish to schedule instruction? Contact your liaison librarian, or use an online instruction request form.

NEW video: Library services in a nutshell

Created for NSO or for any student new to library services, this 1-minute video gives a broad overview of the most used services and resources in the college library.

(This  video is not an update of any library videos currently used in classes, so don't worry about needing to update your course library videos.)

SCC Library's instruction program: PLOs

SCC Library faculty have developed student learning outcomes for our library instruction programming across the college.

Ask about opportunities to participate with us in teaching and assessing these or other Information Literacy outcomes.

Students will...

  • Practice strategic processes of inquiry to find appropriate information sources
  • Evaluate information sources in order to select those appropriate for their research need
  • Following appropriate citation guidelines, ethically integrate the work of others in their own information production
  • Use library services and resources which support their information needs
